Book Description:

Maya Rousseau’s fantasy vacation in Avignon France heats up when an eccentric enchantress tricks her into drinking mojo-laced absinthe.

An unexpected encounter with the green fairy causes Maya’s reality to have a serious melt down. She travels back in time and wakes up naked in the bed of her favorite bad boy Bohemian artist, the tall, dark and mysterious André Bosco. There’s nothing wrong with that except it’s 1903.

For André it’s love at first sight. He begs Maya to become his cherished model, muse and lover. The chemistry and shared passion between them is overwhelming. André’s a generous-hearted dream man but there’s a catch. Every hour they spend together bonds them tighter and time is running out. The same powers that flung Maya back to 1903 are preparing to snatch her back.

With a hundred and ten years separating these soul-bound lovers it’s uncertain if they can find a happy ending without the help of a little magic and La Fée Verte.

Note: Story contains super hot sex with an unattainable man, enchanted hallucinatory beverages, mischievous time-twisters and green fairies.

Chapter One

Avignon, France

Maya rubbed her tired eyes with the heel of her hand and blinked. It didn’t help. The glare of a dry July day and endless hours looking at art had left her in a dazed state of overload. The rods and cones of her retinas were kaput. Her feet ached too. She’d packed more than she could comfortably handle into her single allotted vacation day in Avignon and was now suffering from a bad case of too much of a good thing.

Tired or not, she felt alive. This was what her soul had been starved for. Since morning she’d wandered Avignon’s street exhibits, tented galleries and somber museums filled with masterpieces, gazing in awe. She’d enjoyed an outdoor concert on the bank of the Rhône and photographed the sunbaked Romanesque ruins of a medieval bridge, where she had stopped just long enough to eat a light lunch. She loved photography and Avignon was the perfect place to indulge a hobby she wanted to take further. When she got home she intended to look back and feel as inspired to revive her art career as she felt at that moment.

The daytrip to Avignon would have been perfect excerpt for one important omission. She’d failed to locate the art studio of her favorite modernist painter, the mysterious André Bosco. It was a shame, because Bosco was the real reason she’d been attracted to Avignon in the first place. She’d been a fan of the obscure painter for years and had hoped to see the place where he had launched his brief but brilliant career, which had inexplicably ended in 1903.

What she’d expected would be a simple task had turned into a bust. To her disappointment she’d seen no plaques displayed anywhere mentioning Bosco, and no one seemed to know much about him. Even the guidebook had been vague, mentioning a single abandoned building as a possible site of Bosco’s studio. A daylong search had proven fruitless and ended in frustration. Within the next hour she’d have to leave Avignon without touching base with one of the great inspirations in her life. Considering Bosco was a local artist of merit, it surprised her that he was so little celebrated in Avignon.

Maya turned the corner and headed into one of the older parts of town. The buildings were quaint. A few were in need of repair. The shadows stretched longer and the narrow streets bustled with foot traffic. The evening festivities had already started and she realized it was time to leave.

A few yards in front of her, a team of young male dancers burst onto the crowded sidewalk and claimed a small circle of smooth pavement as their stage. A heartbeat later they were dancing a wild routine that had them spinning and kicking in unison like the blades of a blender.

Maya dodged past the acrobatic dancers but got trapped in the crowd that had gathered to watch. She recoiled at the last second from one dancer’s lethal backflips and high kicks, which were executed an arm’s length from her nose. She pushed past the dancers but the crowd closed in and she got sandwiched between the exuberant performance and a gritty sandstone wall.

This sort of thing had been happening all day. The official festival d’Avignon had something interesting planned for every hour of the day but all over the city spontaneous off-festival performances took place anywhere a crowd gathered.

The dancing was fun but she was thirsty, tired and just wanted to sit.

“Excusez-moi.” Maya crept along the wall, managing to push through the throng of observers. She reached the doorway of an interesting looking bistro, tugged the door open and darted inside.

Once inside she entered a soothing candle-lit Victorian-era building and found herself in a charming Bohemian-themed bistro with cranberry-red velvet cushions on the seats and colorful curtains of glass beads dangling from the windows. Glowing hand-blown glass lanterns sat upon polished tabletops. A framed Gauguin print of an ebony-eyed Tahitian beauty holding a bowl of pink flowers hung near the bar. The pungent scent of amber incense and cherry pipe tobacco perfumed the air.

It was like stepping back in time to another era. Maya’s senses were instantly transported back to the heady days of the modernist art movement at the beginning of the twentieth century. She savored the feeling because it was her favorite fantasy time period, and one she would have loved to experience firsthand.

It surprised her that for such a busy festival day the bistro was empty of patrons. The only other occupant of the bistro, and presumably the proprietress, was a woman who appeared to be in her fifties who was dressed in the theatrical garb of a flowing- sleeved poet’s shirt, a black satin corset and flouncy red skirt and tall boots. She stood beside the bar looking like some sort of piratical gypsy queen.

“Bonsoir.” The lady spoke French but addressed Maya with a familiar accent.

Maya smiled at the lady. “Puis-je commander un café glacé, s'il vous plaît?”

“Of course you can have an iced coffee.” The woman’s keen gaze locked on Maya. A thick layer of black kohl ringed the lady’s eyes and lent her an unsettling appearance. “I speak English and I’m going to guess that you grew up not far from my hometown of New Orleans.”

“I’m from Thibodaux!” Maya laughed. “There’s no hiding the accent, is there?”

The lady reached for a coffee press and packed it with fresh grounds. “Seeing as how you’re a Louisiana girl I’ll add a touch of chicory to your coffee.”

“Thank you.” Maya sat at the bar, fully realizing just how much her feet hurt from walking all day on cobblestones.

“My name’s Miss Ruby.” The lady brushed her long black hair away from her face and appeared to be studying Maya with intense interest. “What’s yours?”

“Maya Rousseau.”

Miss Ruby poured hot water over the coffee grounds and pushed down on the press. “Rousseau is a wonderful name for an art lover.”

“You sound certain I’m an art lover.”

“Why else would you be in Avignon in July? I know what drew you.” Miss Ruby toyed with one of her dangling chandelier earrings while she waited for the coffee to strengthen. “I realize my current costume makes me look ridiculous as I say this, but I really do possess the gift of second sight and prophecy. You see, I’m a world-class enchantress with the highest security clearance.”

A nervous laugh burst past Maya’s lips. “I didn’t realize enchantresses had to earn security clearances.”

“They certainly do!” Miss Ruby’s eyes flashed. “You wouldn’t believe the stringent tests we must pass. A world-class enchantress must prove beyond a shadow of doubt that she is trustworthy, ethical and has the highest good of others in mind before she’ll be granted the powers I have.”

Maya wondered if Miss Ruby was another bit of festival street theater or an ex-pat who’d forgotten to take her medication. “What special powers do you possess?”

“I’m like a fairy godmother, but my work tends to be grittier than what a fairy godmother might attempt. The moment I meet someone I know exactly what their soul needs. I understand the inner workings of time and space and use them to advantage. I don’t actually break the laws of nature but I know how to bend them. In fact my specialty is time-twisting. I’m like a witch but I call myself a ‘Beneficent’ because I always serve the highest good. The gift is hereditary. My mama was a New Orleans Voodoo queen. I could have stayed in New Orleans too, but I chose to travel the world as a high-level enchantress and an ambassador of magic.”

“I see.” Maya recoiled. It was just more of her bad luck in Avignon. First she’d failed to locate Bosco’s studio and now a crazy lady dressed like a carnival psychic had trapped her in a weird conversation.

Miss Ruby poured the steaming coffee over a tumbler filled with ice and slid the glass toward Maya. “Enjoy.”

Maya sipped the chilled, chicory-laced coffee with relish. “I feel revived.” She drank fast, not wanting to linger in the deserted bistro. She decided it best to gulp the iced coffee, pay and run for her life before the conversation got stranger.

Miss Ruby picked up a chamois and busied herself polishing the brass rail that ran the length of the elegant mahogany bar.

Maya’s gaze wandered toward the far wall and fixated on a framed pencil sketch of a handsome man with a proud, compelling face. The sketch was framed beneath glass and the paper had yellowed at the corners and crumbled with age. She studied the man’s face and guessed he was in his mid-thirties. He had a thick head of wavy dark hair and a rugged face with square, noble features, chevron brows and luminous eyes that glanced sideways from the portrait and seemed to follow the viewer around the room.

Maya found herself unable to look away. The man had a magnetic quality she seldom saw in contemporary faces. It was a look that could only belong to someone who possessed the self-confidence and perhaps a touch of arrogance not to care what the world thought. The generous arch of the man’s lips was so sensuous her thoughts wandered toward what it must have felt like to be kissed by him.

“You like Bosco, don’t you?” Miss Ruby leaned close. “He has a interesting face, doesn’t he? He can appear both compassionate and feral in turn. I’ve heard many differing opinions about the portrait over the years.”

Maya started. “Is that a portrait of André Bosco, the Fauvist painter?” she gasped. “I’m a great admirer of Bosco! I had no idea a portrait existed.” Her heart fluttered. “Did he really look like that?”

“You know of Bosco?” Miss Ruby looked elated. “So few do. History has all but overlooked him, which is a shame because those familiar with his small body of work have hailed him as one of the most innovative painters of his time. Some say Bosco inspired his more famous peers and set the example for the Fauvist moment by showing the world how to paint like a wild beast. Of course, a few of his nastiest critics called him a ‘paint waster’, but it’s clear Bosco had vision.”

Miss Ruby waved her hands through the air in an expansive gesture. “A few art historians have credited Bosco with being the original wild beast, in part because of his physical intensity and unruly head of hair, but also because he had a habit of tossing his paintbrushes aside and smearing the brightest colors across the canvas with his fingertips, with passion. It was said by those who watched him work that he ravished his canvases like a ferocious lover.” She giggled.

“He sounds exciting.” Maya drew a sharp breath. “Years ago, I saw an original Bosco in a traveling museum show of modernist work. Bosco’s painting was the most expressive piece of art in the entire show. I kept wandering back to look at it again and again. The painting was of a white stallion but the colors were vivid—every hue of the rainbow was hidden in the lines and shadows. Before I left the museum I bought a postcard of the painting and carried it around in a battered sketchbook for years. Bosco was my greatest inspiration. I heard a rumor he had a studio somewhere in Avignon?”

“He did.” Miss Ruby pointed upward. “His studio is a corner room on the third floor. The landlord of the building has preserved it.”

“Bosco’s studio is here?” Maya tensed. “Can I see it?”

“No.” Miss Ruby shook her head. “I don’t have permission to open the room, but the landlord will return on Sunday. You can ask him then.”

“I won’t be here on Sunday.” A note of desolation crept into her voice. “This is my last full day in France. I have to start making my way back to Paris tomorrow for my flight home. I’ll miss my only chance to see Bosco’s studio.” Maya leaned across the bar, feeling absolutely desperate to get a look at Bosco actual living space. “Please reconsider—I promise not to touch a thing.”

“I’m sorry.” Miss Ruby nodded toward the top of the bar, where an ornate brass skeleton key dangled from a green satin ribbon. “The landlord is the only one allowed to use that key to open the studio…”

(La Fée Verte, the green fairy is going to make an appearance soon and cause a little mischief. Who do you think ends up getting ahold of that key and going upstairs?)

Excerpt -

I balled my fists up and tried not to do something stupid. I stared her square in the eyes and took a deep breath. “I’m just living up to your expectations, Grandma,” I spat the last word at her. “You were right about me. I’m nothing but trouble. I ruin every person I come in contact with. Just ask Mom and Dad! I probably ruined them as well!”

I tried to run again, but her small hands forcefully grabbed my arm and pulled me back around. “You had nothing to do with their unhappiness, do ya hear me? Nothing!” She shook my arm and stared intensely at me.

I jerked my arm out of her hand. I couldn’t bear to feel her rough hands on me. “Don’t lie to me! The least you could do is be honest with me!” I could feel my body shaking as the adrenaline coursed through my body. “How the hell would you know anything about them, anyway? It’s not like you’ve actually been there, have you?”

“I wanted to be Rox-”

“No! If you really wanted to be there, you would have! You could have come to see us anytime!”

“The door works both ways! I tried to get your mother to visit, but she was full of excuses. There was always something more important! So I quit asking.”

“What about a phone call? You sit here on your high horse and lecture me about hurting Chase, and yet you have ignored your only child, and granddaughter, for sixteen years! You have no right to say a damn thing to me!” I screamed as I struggled to hold back the tears that were ready to drop. There was no way in hell she was going to have that power over me. I stormed up the stairs and slammed into my room.

Excerpt -

My hand was moving towards the door when it opened, throwing me off balance for a minute. I caught myself before I fell flat on my face, and when I looked up, there he was, smiling down at me.

“Back so soon?” he asked as he moved aside, waving me in. He shut the door behind me, locking it once more. The snick of the lock set my nerves on edge, but I pushed it down. He wasn't locking it to keep me in. I had to keep reminding myself of that. “What can I help you with?”

I straightened my posture and pulled my shoulders back, bracing myself for the inevitable denial that would surely come. “I'll cut right to it. I need a job and you just fired Captain Creepy today, so I figured you might be in need of help.”

“Captain Creepy? That's a new one. I like it. Definitely fits him,” he replied. I followed him to the display counter where the cash register sat. “Know how to run one of these?” He pointed at the machine and I shook my head.

“But I'm a fast learner. It can't be that hard,” I said.

“Know anything about surfing?”

“Nope.”

“Do you have any qualifications that would make me want to hire you?” He was on the verge of laughing. I could see it on his face as he questioned me.

“Look, I'm desperate. I'm pretty fucking positive that no one else in this town would even consider giving me a job. I just thought that since you weren't a total douche canoe, that you would be willing. If you're not, I understand.”

“You have a very...colorful vocabulary,” he replied. “Look, I do need help, but I don't have the time to train you. You would have to learn everything on your own. Trial and error and all that shit.”

I nodded enthusiastically. “I can do it. I promise.”

“Fine. Be back here tomorrow at seven sharp.”

He couldn't be serious. Seven in the morning? “Wow...you open...early,” I stuttered.

“By that time, most surfers are already slowing down for the day. So technically, I'm still late getting the place open. But I have other shit to deal with in the mornings, so I can't open when they start their day. Do you want the job, or not?”

With a nod, I said “Of course. I'll bring coffee.”

“Good idea,” he said with a smile. “Now, if you don't mind, I have to get out of here. Got to close up shop and get home.”

Book Description:

The only thing they agree on is the sultry heat between them

Nothing’s more important to Paige Ellerbee than her struggling bakery, Sweet Bee’s. When Lane Anderson, the temporary new doctor hot enough to rival McDreamy, moves in next door, though, she’s sure things are looking up. Until he threatens her business in their first conversation.

Lane just wants to practice medicine responsibly—not argue with the flighty bakery owner next door. But when he finds himself traveling down to the Caribbean to play guitar for Paige’s best friend’s wedding, suddenly the sight of the blonde in a bikini eclipses the fact they can’t agree on anything. And as their vacation romance grows, his reservations about starting something after getting burned by love are washed away like sand on the beach.

But once Paige and Lane land back home, will these polar opposites be able to forgive their feud and find lasting love?

Excerpt -

Paige leaned closer to the window to get a better view, and that’s exactly what she got. One look at the new doctor and her stomach flipped like a pineapple upside-down cake. Tall and lean, with a tousle of brown curls, Dr. Anderson strode casually up the sidewalk, dressed in jeans, cowboy boots, and a worn leather

bomber jacket.

Oh my.

As he talked on his phone, an easy smile lit his angular face, and Paige would swear she saw twin dimples, but she couldn’t be sure from this distance. What she could be sure of was that a TV set somewhere was missing an extremely hot doctor. A hot, married doctor.

Dammit.

Paige glanced at her watch. “I need to head back next door. You got a full day of appointments today?” she asked her dad hopefully. If only the men in Maple Creek had more hair, or if what little they had left grew faster. There was no way the barbershop could stay open if business didn’t pick up for her dad.

He smiled and nodded. “About the same. Probably get some walk-ins, too.”

“Until then—” Grinning, she wagged her finger at him and the mayor. “You guys go easy on the gossip, okay?” She headed into the storeroom and was nearly to the back door when the bell on the front door chimed.

“Mornin’,” a man said with a rich, sexy drawl that stopped Paige in her tracks and drew her back into the shadows just beyond the main area of the shop. The new doctor stood up front with her dad and the mayor.

“I’m Lane Anderson—the guy filling in for Dr. Hartley.” He tipped his head in the direction of the doctor’s office.

Mayor Warren chewed cautiously as Paige’s dad set his coffee on the table next to his half-eaten muffin and stood. “I’m Tom Ellerbee.” He shook the doctor’s hand. “Pleasure to meet you.”

The pleasure was all Paige’s. Married or not, the hot doctor was the tastiest eye candy she’d seen in way too long.

“My uncle says you give a mean haircut, but I’m just lookin’ for a trim,” Dr. Anderson said. “How about noon tomorrow?”

Paige’s dad was nearly six feet, but he still had to look up at the doctor. “That’ll work.”

Dr. Anderson nodded and turned his attention to what was left of the muffin in Mayor Warren’s hand. “Those muffins smell delicious.”

“Sweet Bee’s muffins are the best you’ve ever tasted,” Mayor Warren said, and Paige grinned proudly even though they couldn’t see her. “And they keep us healthy, too.”

Dr. Anderson looked at him skeptically.

Mayor Warren stood, his spine straighter than usual. “There’s magic in them.”

Paige’s dad nodded. “You’ll see.”

Dr. Anderson glanced cautiously from one of them to the other as if he wondered what planet he’d landed on. “I’m sure there are lots of things keeping you two gentlemen healthy—diet; medications, maybe; exercise; even good genes. But I haven’t seen a lot of documented clinical evidence about the health benefits of magic muffins.” He shook his head and smiled, seeming to find some humor in what he’d said.

Paige’s stomach clenched as her dad and the mayor stared flatly at Dr. Anderson. How dare he waltz in and question the benefits of her recipes or the magic people believed was in them? She stepped out of the shadows and into the main area of the shop, hands on her hips, her chin tipped up stubbornly.

All three men turned to her, wide-eyed.

Leveling a sharp gaze at Dr. Anderson, she said, “If that’s the case, doctor, then it seems to me you’d be wise not to comment on things you know nothing about.” Paige shot him her nastiest stink-eye, turned on her heel, and left.

Author Interview with Roberta Capizzi, author of Hugged By An Angel

Hugged by an Angel Tour

Today we have author Roberta Capizzi for an interview. Roberta is the author of Hugged By An Angel today’s book blitz. I would like to thank Roberta for making the time to stop by today and answering some questions. Sit back and find out more about this wonderful author.

Author In

Where are you from?

I was born and still live in Italy, but I keep saying that I was born in the wrong country. I have a real passion for Ireland, I’d really love to move there one day.

When and why did you begin writing?

Writing essays has always been my favorite subject in school and something that came easy to me. I started writing fiction (fan fiction to be precise) in high school, using the members of my favorite boybands as characters and I concentrated mainly on learning how to plot a story. After a few years, I decided to move to the next level and create characters from scratch. Writing has always been a way to unwind and pour onto the pages all my thoughts and emotions. It was a very good therapy during a tough period of my life (that’s when I wrote the first draft of Hugged By An Angel) and it helps me escape reality for a little while, taking me to a whole new world where I can decide what happens next.

When did you first consider yourself a writer?

When I held my first book in my hands and saw my name on Amazon. It was one of the most exciting moments in my life. I’ve dreamed of being a writer for years, so seeing my name on the cover of a book was a dream come true.

What inspired you to write your first book?

Michael Bublé! Lol. No, seriously, he was part of the inspiration for my debut novel, The Melody In Our Hearts, but only because he inspired the musical theme in the book. I’m a big fan of his music so when it was time to pick a genre, I decided to use oldies rather than rock or pop, and I sort of created Ryan with Michael in mind. But the main theme in the book is the strong friendship between Ryan and Valerie. I’m an only child and I’ve always wanted an older brother. I used to look up at my older cousins and find in them a sort of brother figure, so I turned this desire into a story, wondering what it would be like to have a male best friend who’d act like a big brother, and if it would be possible to be only friends.

How did you come up with the title?

Choosing a title for my books is always the hardest task for me, because people judge books by their covers but by their titles, too. The perfect title has to capture the whole essence of the story, the deepest meaning. Summarizing it in a few words isn’t easy. The first title of The Melody In Our Hearts was The Sound Of Love. I changed it just before the publication, because I’d found a few books with the same title, so I wanted mine to be unique. It took me a while and lots of brainstorming to come up with a new title, but I was happy about the final decision and I think it actually sounds better. As for Hugged By An Angel, the first title was Angel’s Touch but, again, I found other books with this title, so I thought that, since Kathleen (the heroine in the book) gets hugged a lot by her guardian angel, this would be the perfect title for the book.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Although Hugged By An Angel is a work of fiction, I’d like people to believe that sometimes even through tragedy we can find happiness and that when bad things happen to us, we must try to see the glass half full and somehow see the light at the end of the tunnel. After all, even after a terrible storm the sun will shine again eventually.

If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?

Rosamunde Pilcher was the writer that really turned me into a bookworm. Although I always loved studying and reading, it wasn’t until I discovered her books that I turned into a real book addict and I started buying books and re-reading them more than once. So if I had to pick only one, I’d say she’s the one. But Nicholas Sparks and Maeve Binchy also played a big part in my love for books and helped me understand I wanted to be a writer.

What are your current projects?

After publishing two books in a little more than seven months, I’d hoped I’d be able to rest a little and dedicate a little time to other hobbies I’ve been neglecting, but I’ve come up with an idea for a Christmas novella, although I don’t know if I’ll eventually manage to have it ready in time, and I’m also half-way through another novel, which I’m hoping to publish sometime next year.

Can you share a little of your current work with us?

Hugged By An Angel is a story of angels, tragedy and miracles. But it’s also, and mainly, a story about the power of love and how it can heal the most shattered hearts. Kathleen and Colin are wounded souls and neither of them wants to let the other heal the wounds. But as they embark together on a journey of physical healing, they’ll end up discovering that faith and love can heal broken hearts and shattered souls.

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

Since English is not my first language, sometimes I find the language gap the biggest challenge. Although I read a lot of books in English and I check out online dictionaries, trying to enrich my vocabulary with new words and slang, I know I still make mistakes and there’s still a lot that I have to learn. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to write a whole novel without one single mistake and with readers thinking I’m a native English speaker!

Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

Like I said, I love Rosamunde Pilcher’s books. I love the way she describes the settings (she made me fall in love with Cornwall even though I’ve never been there) and how she can create beautiful, real and totally relatable characters. I love the way she manages to weave a beautiful love story without needing graphic sex scenes to convey the emotions and pull the reader into the story. What I love of Nicholas Sparks’ books is the way he can get inside a character’s mind and make the reader feel the emotions. I love Maeve Binchy’s characters because they feel real. They don’t need to be tall, dark and handsome to pull the reader in: their flaws and fears make you instantly connect with them.

Do you have to travel much concerning your book(s)?

I wish I could say that I do, but unfortunately I never leave my room to write my books. I lived in Ireland for a few months and I’ve visited the country many times; since I tend to set my stories in Ireland, all I have to do is close my eyes and remember where I was and what I saw. Sometimes I set my stories the United States too but since I’ve only been there once (and didn’t see as much as I would’ve liked to) I need to research and find out as much information as I can using the internet. Maybe one day I’ll be able to travel to the places where I want to set my next novel and carry out my research on the spot. That would be a dream come true.

Who designed the covers?

For the cover of The Melody In Our Hearts I used Createspace cover creator, since I’d already found the perfect picture that captured the whole story. For Hugged By An Angel I had an idea of how it had to look like, but I couldn’t find the perfect picture. When I did find a picture I liked, I knew I’d have to hire a cover designer because it still needed a few changes, so I let Stephanie Mooney at Mooney Design create the beautiful cover that you see now.

What was the hardest part of writing your book?

Since Kathleen is in a wheelchair, I had to try and imagine what it would be like. Sometimes I had to stop and wonder if she would be able to do this or that while sitting in a wheelchair, and how she would feel about it. I know it’s fiction, but it had to feel as real as possible, so I really had to put myself in her shoes and try to feel the way she would feel.

Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?

I’m not sure if this answer is off topic, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned ever since I’ve become a published author is that I simply love writing. No matter how many people will buy my book or if I’ll never become a best-selling author, I’ll keep writing stories for myself, because writing is who I am, is when I feel totally and undeniably me and I love creating new stories, meeting new characters and helping them find their happy ending.

Do you have any advice for other writers?

Be yourself; don’t let anyone tell you what you can or can’t do; write what you want to read and, if you ever get a bad or nasty review, try to see the good in it and use the criticism to become a better writer.

Describe a typical day spent writing. Do you have any unusual writing habits?

I have a day job so unfortunately I can’t spend all day writing. I usually write whenever I have a little free time, in the evenings or over the weekends. Or whenever I have a new idea-no matter where I am, I always carry a notepad in my bag so I can jot down new ideas. An unusual writing habit? I can’t follow a plot. I try to sit down and outline a story, but then I always end up writing scenes as they play in my mind so maybe I can write chapter fifteen, then chapter six, the epilogue and chapter one and eventually I’ll put them together like pieces in a puzzle.

What was your greatest moment since becoming an author?

When I got the first five-star reviews. It was amazing to hear strangers say such wonderful words about my book.

About The Author -

Roberta CapizziAn avid reader since her childhood years and being an only child, Roberta always enjoyed the company of her fictional friends from the children’s books she loved reading, while she dreamed of writing her own stories one day.

It was when she discovered novels by authors Rosamunde Pilcher and Maeve Binchy in her teenage years that she realized it was time she put down in words the stories she had kept well hidden in her mind until then.

What started as a hobby, soon turned into a real passion and a way of life, until she could no longer keep the stories to herself, and decided to get over her fears and share them with the world.

Roberta lives in Italy, but her dream is to move out of her country and live either in a thatched cottage in the Irish countryside or in a country house with a swing on the back porch, somewhere in the United States, where she would love to spend her days writing novels as a full-time job, and maybe one day even get as far as writing a screenplay for a movie.
